Writing Assessment Services, www.writingassessment.com, is pleased to offer to online tutorial students two options to enhance your work this year:

Writing Prep Workshop for Great Books Tutorials, with Criterion(SM) Service. September 15 - October 10, 2008. This four-week workshop offers lively interaction in a Yahoo Groups format to give new students confidence with the assignments common to several tutorial services. This year for the first time, the workshop includes enrollment in your choice of grade level in the Criterion(SM) Online Writing Evaluation service, a standardized essay evaluation program with automated six-point scoring. Students will have five topics and unlimited revisions and automated evaluations of essay drafts, with three personalized evaluations from me. Criterion(SM) can be used throughout the school year, and you may add blocks of evaluations as you desire. $100 for the four-week workshop and block of five Criterion(SM) essays and evaluations.

Paper Evaluation Packages, in Criterion(SM)-enhanced packages of 4000 or 10,000 words, or a traditional email evaluation package of 4000 words. Traditionally these packages have accommodated the paper assignments for most tutorial levels, offering close evaluation of the argument, details, style, and mechanics for the tutor-assigned essays, but many families use them for other assignments as well. The evaluation of each essay, well heeded, can improve each subsequent essay. The new versions of evaluation packages include a block of Criterion(SM) essays and evaluations, and students submit package essays to the Criterion(SM) site for my evaluation. $150 - $300, depending on options chosen.
